Day 3

DAY 3                                 May 21, 2007
Monday                           Houston, TX to San Antonio, TX

We were on our way at 7:20 am central time, I-10 was pretty good, we had rain most of the way. We arrived in San Antonio at 10:30 am central time. We had to take Lucy to the vet. It appears Lucy was stressed from the drive, $200 later she is put on some medication and some special food and we took advantage of getting the flea med that I left at home while we were there for all 3 dogs. Lucy appears to be good now. We finally checked into the KOA it is supposed to be the best campground, I hate to see what the other campgrounds are like, but it met our needs and we were happy and we know that in some places along the route we won't have like 5 star campgrounds due to the terrain type conditions. We took a city bus ride into downtown that would put New York taxi drivers to shame. Downtown San Antonio was great we stopped and had some ice cream as we were walking, we really enjoyed seeing the Alamo but, I think our favorite was the downtown riverwalk. We walked through the riverwalk mall then took the river boat through the entire riverwalk. We had a good dinner at Casa Rio one of the original resturants of San Antonio riverwalk. The weather was great while we were downtown then we had just a 10 minute rain shower waiting for the bus to go back to KOA.
