DAY  1                                       May 19, 2007   (Saturday)
Clearwater, FL  to  Pennsacola, FL
(416 miles    7 hours)

We are on our way!  We hit the road at 7:00 am est and right on schedule. We took US 19 to I-10 in Tallahassee, the roads and traffic was very good. We had very little to none of the smoke from the fires in north Florida. We arrived in Pennsacola at 2:00 pm est. Diesel gas prices were from $2.71 to $2.89 per gallon where as regular gasoline was $3.15 per gallon (glad we use diesel). We stayed at the KOA in Milton, FL the owners were very friendly and nice. Very clean campground right off the interstate. Our site was a premier site pull through, we had a nice level concrete pad and patio pad with a bench swing, BBQ grill, nice table & chairs with umbrella and a lighted walkway. The weather for the entire day was beautiful nice sunny clear skies 82 degrees. This was a great start to a very much needed vacation.
